
Julie Ellen "Tawny," Kitaen was an American model and actress. She lived between May 7th and August 5, 1961. Her acting career in television started with Malibu (1983) and California Girls (1985). She also starred in the comedy films The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak and Bachelor Party (both 1984), and the horror film Witchboard (1986). Kitaen gained a wide-ranging recognition for her roles in a variety of rock music videos of heavy metal. These included Ratt's "Back for More" (1984) and Whitesnake's "Still of the Night", "Is This Love" and "Here I Go Again" (all 1987).In the early 2000s, Kitaen transitioned into appearing on reality television series like The Surreal Life (2006) and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) which, the latter of which documented Kitaen's addiction issues. Julie Kitaen was the youngest of three children. She was born in San Diego in 1961 to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor), an actress and a former beauty pageant contestant, and Terry Kitaen who worked for the neon sign industry. Kitaen was the daughter of a Russian Jewish father and a Scottish mother. Kitaen was born Jewish. When she was at the age of 12, she began make use of the name "Tawny" that she invented on her own initiative. She was dyslexic as a child. This caused her to leave Mission Bay High School. 7 years old, she was at the age of 14 with backstage passes after the Peter Frampton concert at Balboa Stadium,[8] she witnessed the privileged treatment given to Frampton's lover Penny and aspired to achieve it for herself.
